Junior Scientist – Quality Control

3rd Shift: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Monday through Friday

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ

Position Overview and Expectations

Quality control is an integral component at Keystone. Quality control personnel enable production teams to work efficiently through prompt completion of all testing. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that all products leaving the facility are of the highest quality.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Issue adjustments, approvals and rejections, as needed.
  • Generate certificates of analysis and related quality control documents
  • Identify, document and communicate quality Issues
  • Under the guidance of senior laboratory staff, develop products to meet customer needs
  • Produce customer specialty samples as necessary
  • Participate in the general upkeep of the laboratory
  • Work safely with hazardous chemicals and waste
  • Operate analytical equipment
  • Complete special assignments and prepare reports/project summaries, as required
  • Assist with training of new employees
Qualifications
  • 0-3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Math skills – unit conversion, ratio, percentage
  • Computer proficient
  • Proficiency with MS Office – especially Excel

Education/Certifications:

  • 4-yr college degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Biology or similar)

  • Physical Demands:Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to wear/use personal protective equipment as required such as lab coat, goggles, gloves, masks, etc.
  • Work Environment:This position requires one to work both in an office environment and a lab. Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment. On occasion, may be exposed to light fumes or airborne particles.
