Chemical Operator – Color Matching

Essential Job Functions
  • Work in accordance with outlined safety procedures including grounding procedures
  • Handle and use materials and equipment including pumps, digital scales, air mixers, pallet jacks and drum handlers/dollies
  • Batch making of air-dried coatings and some process in quality control
  • Match colors of nail polish and gel formulations as per customer specifications
  • Utilize appropriate spectrophotometric techniques and software to match and document color
  • Interact with laboratories
  • EX counterbalance forklift trained and knowledge of the difference between EX and other trucks
  • Understanding or knowledge of labeling requirements, identification and application
  • Understanding or knowledge of sampling requirements for lab analysis
  • Posting journals in AX for intermediates, final products and adjustments
  • Locate raw materials and transferring to and from the proper location
  • Locate final products in their respective quarantine or final storage location
  • Clean mix vessels, impellers/agitators, and filters including filter housing
  • Handle waste materials and its disposal
  • Proper Handling of Raw Pigments
  • Complete documentation in accordance to GDP’s, including totaling and calculations of current charges
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 0-2 years’ directly related experience in manufacturing field
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Effective organization and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Math aptitude
  • Mechanical ability
  • Proficient with computers and MS Office Suite
Desired Skills
  • Understanding or knowledge of effect pigments and dyes
  • Manufacturing background in ISO and CGMP
  • Coating in a manufacturing environment such as automotive and printing.
  • Some chemistry background helpful
  • Experience working with various types of machinery and material handling equipment
Education/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Physical Demands: Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finer, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend; kneel and climb; and lift up to 50lbs. on a daily basis. In addition, must be able to move/maneuver barrels up to 500lbs. and pallets up 1500 lbs. utilizing proper drum material handling equipment provided (drum/jack lift and/or drum/truck cart and pallet jack/hand truck)
  • Work Environment: This position requires one to work in a manufacturing facility. There is a moderate level of noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. Employee frequently works near moving mechanical equipment and chemicals and will be exposed to varying temperatures.
